Free Prescriptions

 
bulletLeaflet HC81 tells you if you are entitled to free prescriptions. It is available from most pharmacies and all main Post Offices. Medical conditions that entitle you to free prescriptions are listed in HC81.For more information about free prescriptions and to see a copy of an HC81 leaflet, please click here.
bulletIf you think you may be entitled to free prescriptions, you can pay now and ask us for an NHS receipt (FP57). From April 1st 2005 you can obtain a refund from your pharmacy.
bulletIf you are not sure whether you qualify for free prescriptions, call the NHS Advice line    ( Freephone 0800 91 77 711) for information.
bulletThe Department of Health website has the most up to date information on NHS costs and exemptions, including the latest prescription charges.


Sending Your Prescription to us
bulletFill in the back of the NHS prescription
bulletIf you do not pay for your prescription, photocopy the proof of your exemption and post the prescription to our pharmacy .
bulletIf you pay, you still have to complete the back of your NHS prescription declaring the amount of prescription tax you are paying .
bulletOn completing the back of the prescription, please send the prescription to us.

Dispensed prescriptions will be sent back with no post or packing charge and a refund of your 2nd class postage costs.

Please allow 3 days upon receipt of your prescription for delivery
